Authentic Shape Trained in Practice
The know-how gained through participation
in the best touring car races has been fed back to us.
The RAZO project was launched in 1984.
According to a person in charge of planning and sales promotion at the time,
As a car accessory company, we couldn't avoid motorsports. The event and culture wasn't there.
That was just when Honda was starting to get strong in Formula One.
Development was not a simple matter of riding a boom; it was a serious endeavour.
With racing driver Tomohiko Tsutsumi asour advisor, we participated in Group A, N1 Endurance, GT and other touring car races to develop our products in actualcompetition.
Mr Tsutsumi wanted a shift knob that he would not feel uncomfortable with when he switched from the steering wheel tothe shift knob, so we cut off a portion of the steering wheel to make a prototype, which met his request.
We also took on the challenge of creating the industry's first asymmetrical shift knob specifically for right-hand drivevehicles.
With pedals, I want a surface that doesn't usually slip, but only when you're operating them, so that you can heel andtoe! (a driving technique where you brake with your toes and accelerate with your heel at the same time)
It was the beginning of RAZO
that realized the ideal of such a racing driver with ideas and innovations.
1986
With the help of racing driver Tomohiko Tsutsumi as an advisor, the shift knob, steering wheel, and pedals have been made available to the team. The company launched three types of products. The concept was to create parts that would serve as a connection between people and cars.

ADVISORS
RÄZO always invites active racing drivers as advisors
to give us feedback on their insights while using our products in practice,
which we use to help us develop our products.
The following is an introduction to our RAZO advisors.
Yoichi Imamura
A four-time D1 Grand Prix series champion, he has been a member of RAZO's advisory board since 2000. In 2004, he co-developed and released a 480g weight drift spec knob.
Shinji Tsugawa
He has won the fastest class of All Japan Gymkhana for 5 consecutive years from 2014 to 2018. We found out that he was racing a Lancer Evolution X with RAZO pedals and contacted him immediately. We signed him up as an advisor.
We were very happy to learn that he has picked RAZO pedals to install to ensure the intense pedaling of the fastest SA class of Gymkhana. We will continue to take Tsugawa's feedback and develop products that can be used in competition.
Ryo Orime HP
We have been working with Orime since he debuted in the Super GT Championship in 2008 as an advisor. With Orime's introduction, the collaboration with RE Amemiya started.
Ukyo SasaharaHP
In 2014, while attending high school in Austria, he competed in European formula racing and asked for an advisor, hoping for a future in what was already a world standard.
At RAZO, the effectiveness of the weight knob on the circuit was discussed, and we asked Imamura to test a prototype, which proved the effectiveness of the weight knob in drifting. After that, weight knobs became a demand for drift drivers.
